   SMT Hand Soldering Skills

Course Objective:
This highly practical course will cover all aspects of SMT Hand Soldering and Removal. Training will be given in accordance with IPC-7711 "Rework of Electronic Assemblies" and IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.

The emphasis on quality and doing it right first time will be the theme of the course. Trainees will be assessed at the end of the course and a report on progress of trainees will be given to the supervisor.

Course Topics include:

Explanation and demonstration of board handling, anti-static and safety procedures and methods of soldering
Equipment set-up and good housekeeping skills
Chip component soldering
SOT soldering
SOIC soldering
QFP soldering
PLCC soldering
Explanation of workmanship standards
SMT Rework Video
Component removal techniques
Assessment and discussion

Course Duration:
One to two days
(Two days training will be necessary to cover fine pitch/advanced soldering of components)
