   IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Trainer Recertification

The IPC-A-610 standard is the most widely recognised and accepted standard ever published by the IPC for the PCB assembly industry. After your trainers are recertified to this specification, they will be qualified to teach and certify individuals in the IPC-A-610 standard. This training program provides comprehensive accept/defect criteria for all three classes of assembly production.

How the Recertification Program Works:
Candidates must pass open and closed book assessments. Successful candidates are awarded Certified IPC trainer Certification valid for a further two years. Certified IPC Trainers may be recertified by two means:

1. IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Trainer Recertification course.
This consists of a review of the IPC-A-610 material, followed by IPC-A-610 open-book and closed-book assessments.

Recertification Course Outline:
IPC training program policies
Define the purpose, interpretation and use of IPC-A-610
Recognise proper handling and ESD requirements
Identify acceptable mechanical assembly requirements
Recognise the requirements for component installation
Terminal connections
Identify the requirements for soldering assemblies including Lead free assemblies
Cleanliness requirements
Marking requirements
Laminate conditions requirements
Component damage
High voltage applications
Discrete wiring assembly requirements
Surface mount assembly requirements
Training skills and responsibilities of Certified IPC Trainers

2. Challenge Test
Candidates satisfying current policy and procedure requirements are allowed to take a challenge test, which simply means taking the open and closed book assessments without prior course instruction from the Master IPC Trainer. Candidates who successfully pass the assessments are deemed to be recertified.

Certified IPC Trainer Benefits:
After completing the Certified IPC Trainer recertification course, you will be recertified through IPC and authorised to provide high quality, effective training and certification to personnel at your facility. You will be certified to provide Certified IPC Specialist Training.
